A short flow

From found item to owner message

A QR code is placed on an item. If it gets lost, the finder can scan the code and send help onward.

1. Create the code

The owner creates or activates a QR code and places it on the physical item.

2. The finder scans

The scan page briefly explains what happens and offers personal or anonymous help.

3. The owner is notified

The message and optional location are forwarded to the owner through iFoundThis.

The finder must understand the page immediately

The flow is made for a situation where the finder is holding a physical item and wants to help without friction.

For the owner

The owner receives an email when someone scans and sends information about the lost item.

For the finder

The finder can send contact information or anonymously describe where the item was left.

Activation protects the code

A QR code can be activated by the owner before it starts sending found-item messages.
